SUBMITTED by Sharon Lubitow, Lyons Main Street Program (10-Aug-2009)

On Saturday, October 24th, the Lyons Main Street Program will introduce the village’s newest event: the Harvest Festival/Costume Parade/Street Dance. A celebration of all the best of autumn in our area, the festival features food, games, history and culture, with just a hint of Halloween spooky. To make the Harvest Festival special, the Main Street Program has designed this as a fundraising opportunity for all Lyons-based groups, organizations and businesses.

Although activities will take place throughout the village, the centerpiece of the festival will be Central Park, where participating groups will tempt visitors with homemade goodies, handmade crafts, and old-time games. The Main Street Program is now asking all those interested in participating to sign up and identify their booth’s activity, to eliminate duplication.

For information or to receive a sign-up sheet, please contact Sharon Lubitow at 315-398-8974.
