The waves on Lake Ontario have been exciting to watch over the past few days, as the wind has really started to make its push into Autumn. Having a Wayne County Life story guy living on the shore of Lake Ontario year-round has its perks--we can get video footage or photos of our Great Lake at any time.

On 28 September 2009 the September waves were particularly compelling and we've got a good clip below to share. Notice the orderliness with which the waves march toward the cobbles on the beach, see the whitecaps form and then ride atop the curling waves, witness each wave's dramatic finale upon the flesh of Wayne County--check it out! Lake Ontario is a beaut.

Do you live near a particularly aesthetic or ever-changing scene? Interested in social media and the blogosphere? Let's make the perfect match by recording in some manner that beauty which is in your very own backyard and sharing it with us on Wayne County Life. It must be said that it's beautiful to include showing that without a doubt "Nature" is in charge. The wind shown in the video has been blowing for days so that I haven't been able to get the boats out of the water as I had planned!

Hi All from Southern California. Just so you know – we have a cottage on the Lake – Cooper’s Cottage at Sprong’s Bluff.

We just got back from a 30 day sail from Honolulu to Long Beach on a 50’ catamaran, the ORV Alguita, looking for plastics in the ocean.

Bonnie Monteleone, a southern tier gal, now in North Carolina, wrote a blog about this and our cruise in the Atlantic in July. Her blog is at

    www.theplasticocean.blogspot.com

On the way home from “The Garbage Patch” we sailed for 8 days in 20-40 knot winds with seas 12-14 feet – it was slow going.

Love to see the Erie Canal and the Lake pics.
