The Lyons Public Library makes every attempt to keep the public informed about events and services that the library provides. Press releases are sent to several local papers as well as the Wayne County Life website and when possible, events are also listed on the Lyons Main Street Program community calendar and ads are placed in the Lyons Shopping Guide.
Library Director Theresa Streb maintains the library’s blog which serves as its website, in addition to the Library’s account on Facebook. The Library blog is called “Check out the Lyons Public Library” and the address is www.lyonslibrary.blogspot.com. For our Facebook account, people can click on the link on the right hand side of the blog under Library Links, labeled “The Library on Facebook.” By clicking the Like button on our Facebook page people can have updates sent to their Facebook account.
The Friends of the Lyons Public Library also publish a quarterly newsletter that is sent to members of the group, keeping them informed of the Library and Friends events. Several extra copies are also kept at the circulation desk for people to read.
