“THE 2010 MEMBERS SHOW”
Wayne County Council for the Arts is pleased to present the “2010 Members Show” in the Main Gallery. The theme this year is “Landscape and Florals” and the exhibit will celebrate the talents of our local artists.
In the Members’ Gallery we present: Michele Vair, a resident of the Village of Newark, and long time artist who works in a variety of mediums, is happy to find her place in the community of artists at Wayne Arts! The inspiration for her work comes from all that surrounds her, and can be seen in the “captured moments,” urban environments and still life photography exhibited in the Members Gallery this month. Bonnie L. Evangelist who resides in Newark has been taking pictures most of her life, and recently entered some of her photographs in local juried exhibits. Her photos depict scenes and flowers from across the United States and Canada. She is thrilled to be exhibiting her work at Wayne Arts.
These exhibits will be on display from September 10th through October 1st, 2010. The public is invited to an opening reception to be held on Friday, September 10th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
In addition to the exhibits, the Newark Garden Club will be showing individual floral displays presented by their members, on Saturday, September 18th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Newark Garden Club has been in existence for over eighty years and has been extremely supportive of the community. They have worked on many projects to keep up the appearance of Newark, its village parks and gardens.
The Newark Garden Club will be donating a “Garden Basket” to The Wayne County Arts Council for a raffle to be held during the month of September. Tickets will be for sale during the month at the Gallery with the drawing to be held on September 30th.
