PHELPS – Spend part of your third spectacular Saturday in October at the Crafts/Vendor Fair at the Phelps Community Center, 8 Banta St. in Phelps.
Sponsored by the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), the craft/vendor fair on Oct. 16 offers chocolate goodies, Mexican food, soaps and notions, candles and Tupperware, jewelry and peanut brittle, decorated glassware and painted rocks – things to eat on the spot, enjoy later, or set aside for the holidays and gift-giving.

You can get a chair massage. You can learn about and enroll in Operation Safe Child, sponsored by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Department. And you can get up close and personal with wildlife from The Living Collection (winter fox, rabbits, goats, peacocks and more).
Everything starts at 10 a.m., with the fair due to end at 2 p.m. There will be door prizes and raffles, and more vendors will be added as the big day approaches. Some of the early reservations are from:
· El Rincon Mexicano (from Sodus – super Mexican food!)
· Mooseberry Soap Co.
· Lia Sophia Jewelry
· Country Bumpkin peanut brittle
· Lynne Smock and her hand-painted glassware
· Norma Phelps and her hand-painted stones
· Gold Canyon candles
· Tastefully Simple (easy-to-prepare foods and gifts)
· Scentsy (wickless candles)
For more information, contact RSVP at 315-946-7530 or visit the website at www.waynecap.org.
RSVP is an organization of volunteers age 50 and above, some retired and some not, who pitch in to take elderly county residents to doctors’ appointments, who are foster grandparents, who participate in Meals on Wheels, who support free-food distributions and man food cupboards, and who take on many humanitarian and self-help projects in the area. This craft/vendor fair is one of their fundraisers. RSVP is administered by Wayne County Action Program and partially funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service, and the New York State Office for the Aging.
