So, you’d rather cook your pumpkin than race it or carve it – there’s still a place for you at PumpkinPalooza.  The “Flavors of Fall” cooking contest, sponsored by Loson’s Big M Market and the Lyons Main Street Program, wants your best culinary celebration of the fall harvest season.  The contest, to be held at PumpkinPalooza on Saturday, October 23rd, is seeking the best seasonal dishes in each of three categories: main dish, side dish and dessert.
Chefs will bring their dishes to the Lyons Main Street Program office at 70 William Street between 9 and 10 a.m. on October 23rd.  The “Flavors of Fall” theme can be interpreted in either of two ways: through the use of foods grown locally or recipes typically enjoyed by families during the harvest season.  Each dish must be delivered in a non-returnable container no larger than 8” x 8” or 9” x 5” and must be accompanied by its recipe.  The panel of three judges will determine the winner in each category. The winning chefs will each receive a $25 gift card from Loson’s Big M Market.
For further information about the “Flavors of Fall”, please call 315-398-8974, pick up a flier at Loson’s BigM or the Lyons Main Street Program office at 70 William Street or check the PumpkinPalooza page at lyonsmainstreetprogram.org.
PumpkinPalooza is sponsored by Lyons National Bank, the Ohmann Theatre, WCAP Goal Chaserz, Reflections band, and the Lyons Main Street Program.
