Mums The Word



Newark was once home to several well known nurseries such as C.W. Stuart, Jackson & Perkins, Wm. C. Moore & Co., Emmons, Quaker Hill and others. Tourists would drive to Stuart Avenue this time of year to view large fields of multi-color locally patented Chrysanthemums. The area is now the site of Driving Park Circle housing.
