Wayne Arts Has A Successful Fundraiser

This year Wayne County Council for the Arts held their Annual Fundraiser on a Sunday afternoon at Blue Heron Hills Golf Club in Macedon, New York. The community continued to support this event with over ninety people attending. As they socialized with each other and the artists, music was provided by members of the Newark High School band.

Over fifty artists donated a piece of art that they had created. Tickets were sold and the holder of each ticket became eligible to choose one piece of art from an array of fine oil and watercolor paintings, silver and beaded jewelry, ceramic bowls, handmade pieces of clothing and accessories, framed photographs, etchings, drawings and wood carvings.

A raffle for gift baskets which were made up of donations provided by area businesses was also held. Baskets included golf, dinner and hotel certificates as well as wine and hand painted wine glasses and smaller items donated by our local artists.

This years’ fundraiser also offered Wayne County businesses sponsorship opportunities. Our Fine Arts Sponsor was IEC Electronics and our Contemporary Art Sponsors were Mike Barnard Chevrolet-Cadillac-Buick-GMC, Concord Ford- Lincoln-Mercury, Dobbins Drugs, ESL Federal Credit Union, Newark Village Pharmacy, Spinco Metal Products and The Lyons National Bank.
With the support of our sponsors, area businesses, and attendees, the event was very successful, and insures Wayne County Council for the Arts continues to provide services for both artists and the community.

In addition to providing a venue for many Wayne County and other artists to exhibit their work – and for the community to view it, council members also maintain an active art studio, gallery and gift shop in Newark. The studio is used to conduct art classes, ranging from children’s arts and crafts workshops to sculpture, drawing and painting classes for adults.

The art gallery, gift shop and studio of Wayne County Council for the Arts are located at 108 W. Miller Street, Newark.
Gallery hours are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 1:00 – 4:00 pm and by appointment. For more information, call (315) 331-4593, email us at info@wayne-arts.com or check out our website at www.wayne-arts.com .
