Amie Ackerman is one of the talented stylists at The Electric Chair located at 24 Broad Street in the Village of Lyons. The Electric Chair performs many enhanced beauty services that make this salon literally a full service facility. Beyond the traditional hair styling and nails services, this salon offers waxing, LED light treatments, professional teeth whitening and a Repachage make-up line. The quaint little spa even has a brand new, stand-up tanning booth for those that fear being encapsulated in a traditional lie down bed.
The Electric Chair is owned by Amie's mother, Janet Squier, who purchased the building earlier this year. Her vision became reality when they opened the doors for business on Memorial Day, 2010.
The Electric Chair has also shown to be a major community supporter through their participation at Peppermint Days and recently at the Pumpkinpalooza fall festival.
The majority of small businesses truly depend on local support from the community. Amie has come to love our small little village and has found some favorite necessities here.
Do you have any favorite spots in Lyons?
I like the caboose! And I even stop at the Mobilmart for gas, but I would have to say that my morning ritual of having a McDonald's Breakfast is what I like best.
When you first opened, did anyone go out of their way to meet you?
Sandy Amrose made it a point to stop and greet us, and the Lyons Main Street Program Manager stopped to welcome us to the area.
