The third entry in the Lyons Public Library's Tough Dames on Film series is "Double Indemnity" starring Barbara Stanwyck, Fred MacMurray and Edward G. Robinson. The film will be shown on Sat., March 5 at 2 p.m. in the Community Room. MacMurray plays an insurance salesman who is seduced by Stanwyck into plotting her husband's death. They are both pursued by Robinson, a claims manager, who becomes suspicious of the situation. This classic film noir received 7 Academy Award nominations in 1944 including Best Picture and Best Actress. Come and enjoy hot chocolate and popcorn during the film.
