Father’s Day weekend was busy for Long Acre Farms and JD Wine Cellars. They held three family-friendly events during the weekend of June 18 and 19.

As a stop on the Lake Ontario Wine Trail, they partnered with Artisan Foods and the Finger Lakes Cheese Trail to offer wine and cheese pairings to the public on both June 18 and 19. Passports are available at all trail wineries for $10 or can be purchased in advance for $8 at www.lakeontariowinetrail.com.

Long Acre Farms’ ice cream shop, the Sweet Cone Shop, offered free ice cream sundaes to fathers on Father’s Day. The ice cream shop is proud to exclusively sell only the finest, local products and features Dar’s Delights Homemade Ice Cream of Macedon, NY. The shop also bakes homemade waffle cones and bowls fresh daily. Fathers also enjoyed free wine tastings on Father’s Day at JD Wine Cellars, the newest addition to Long Acre Farms.

“Father’s Day is an exciting time for us at Long Acre Farms because it is such a great opportunity for families to spend time together,” said Joan Allen, co-owner of Long Acre Farms and JD Wine Cellars. “We have always been proud to offer an affordable and fun escape for families.”
On June 18, Long Acre Farms welcomed the Williamson Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol. The Squadron, and their cadets launched rockets they built on the farm’s runway. Guests came to watch the rockets, which were launched to an elevation nearing 1,500 feet, and to sign up for the cadet program. The Civil Air Patrol is the official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, formed to provide emergency services, aerospace education and cadet programs for the community. For more information on their organization and programming, visit www.wcscap.org.
