CHAPTER MEETING
Wednesday, 14 September 2011
Eisenhart Auditorium
Rochester Museum and Science Center
657 East Avenue

6:30 – Workshop – Social Hour

Come share your summer adventures!

7:30 – Program – Tom Wemett: Trekking the Northville-Placid Trail

Learn about the Adirondacks’ premier hiking/backpacking trail – the Northville-Placid Trail - from the self-proclaimed “NP Trail Fanatic” himself – Tom Wemett. Tom is formerly from Rochester and a past member of the Genesee Valley Chapter of ADK. He currently serves as the Chair of the NP Trail Chapter of ADK – the newest chapter of ADK approved in March 2011.

Tom also serves on the ADK Trails Committee and the ADK Board of Directors as well as the Webmaster for www.NPTrail.org, the website devoted specifically to the Northville-Placid Trail. In a narrated power-point presentation, Tom will be describing some of the history of the NP Trail as well as the various sections of the trail including where to stay and some of the scenic vistas and other landmarks to look out for along the trail. He will also answer your questions about the trail.

This event is free and open to the public. The meeting is handicapped accessible and interpreters for the deaf are available by calling 394-5856 one week before the meeting.

The Genesee Valley Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club is the second largest chapter with almost 3,000 members. We offer local area hikes every weekend and events for all seasons as well. Event information is available at www.gvc-adk.org or by calling the chapter hotline at 987-1717.
