SUBMITTED by Ellie Drake, Wayne County League of Women Voters (29-Dec-2011)

Applications are being accepted from Wayne County high school juniors and seniors for "Students Inside Albany," an annual student conference sponsored by the League of Women Voters of New York State Education Foundation Inc. Teens having a genuine interest in government and a sense of adventure are encouraged to apply. This year's conference will be held March 25-28. The League of Women Voters NYS will provide chaperones, transportation, lodging, meals and all educational materials.

A Wayne County student representative will be able to join high school students from across the state to learn about New York state government and how citizens can participate in the policy making area. Students will tour the Capitol, shadow their assemblyperson and state senator, and attend lectures by guest speakers. Applications and further information can be requested from lwvnyw@aol.com and are due by Jan. 20. The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization and students of all political parties and both genders are encouraged to apply.
