LYONS (FEB 9 12) -- The Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious incident on Mill Street, in the Town of Marion that occurred on Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 at approximately 6: 20 p.m.
It was reported that an unknown male subject, sitting in his vehicle, asked a minor female if she wanted a ride. When she declined, she stated the male subject grabbed her wrist and told her to get into the vehicle. The victim stated she was able to free herself and ran home reporting the incident to her parent.

On two occasions deputies interviewed the victim. She described the suspect to be wearing a black hoodie and ripped jeans. No other description of the suspect or vehicle was reported.
The Sheriff’s Office has increased patrols in the Marion area, especially before and after school hours.
It is strongly suggested that parents encourage their children not to speak with strangers, go near strangers or unknown vehicles. Parents are also encouraged to have their children discuss any suspicious activities with them and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement by calling 911.
If anyone has any information regarding this investigation, contact Sergeant Investigator James Dallas and/or Lieutenant Ameele of the Sheriff’s Office at 315-946-9711.
