Trail Works Hike Thru Macedon Join us and the Genesee Land Trust for a Macedon Meander. On Saturday, August 24, will start from 10-12 at the Ganargua Meadow Preserve to search for the “Butterflies of Late Summer.” This portion of the hike will be lead by Carol and David Southby of the Rochester Butterfly Club. The Ganargua Meadow Preserve, Creekside entrance, is a hotspot for butterflies. Hikers should bring binoculars, water and wear long pants and footwear appropriate for poison ivy. Directions: From Route 31 in Macedon, turn south onto Route 306 (Wayneport Road). Turn east onto Wilkinson Road and continue to its end at Victor Road in Wayne County. Creekside entrance to Preserve is on right. Following the hike, a bring your own lunch will take place at the Macedon Butterfly Trail at One Canal Park, Lock 30. At 1 PM, the dedication of the new mural will take place at the pavilion near the Fire Hall. The mural, is a Macedon Village Pride Committee project and is being painted by Dawn Jordan. It is funded by local donations in cooperation with Trail Works, Inc. Following the dedication, all will be treated to a complimentary “Ice Cream Trough” feast.
