The day was perfect! The trail was inviting! A friend and I set out from Canal Park in the Village of Macedon and began the beautiful walk to lock 60. We crossed over the lock doors and walked the beautiful trail from Route 350 to O’Neill Rd and then onto the lock. We passed people fishing and others walking their dogs. We took a minute to look at the Change Bridge. At Lock 60, we noticed how well the area was maintained. We could see the construction of the original canal.
Take some time out of your busy life to enjoy this peaceful place and vivid history. If you want a shorter walk, there is excellent parking on O’Neill Rd. just past the bridge over the canal. Remember that we need sponsors to help us collect donation for the Butterfly Nature Trail. Enjoy nature and help us preserve these special places.
