Seneca Falls, NY; July 24, 2018. If you want to attract butterflies or pollinators to your yard, make plans to visit the cover crop plots at the August 7-9, 2018 Empire Farm Days at Rodman Lott and Son Farms in Seneca Falls, NY.
The crop plots, sponsored by Rodman Lott and Son Farms, King's AgriSeeds, and Seedway, can be seen at anytime during the show. Seed representatives will lead a daily 10:30 am tour of the plots that include three pollinator-friendly mixes with annual and perennial species.
The crop plots also feature single species and seed blends for managing summer heat stress, dealing with soil compaction, adding organic matter, and for use after small grain or vegetable crops. Empire Farm Days visitors will also see crops that act as a natural biofumigant to decrease unwanted nematode populations.
