The Roosevelt school building on East Union Street was soon be gone but the memories can last forever...........................
Members of the Newark Arcadia Historical Society are organizing a photo of former pupils and teachers of the elementary school that closed in 1976.
Those wishing to participate please show up at the school on East Union Street Saturday December 29, where the photo will be taken at 1 p.m. sharp. This event is planned with the cooperation of the building owner Jill Graybill Nittolo of Newark.
The 106 year old building is set to transfer to a Syracuse developer in January and will be torn down to develop a retail complex at that site.
