Warm rain falling on green grass, greener still the trees and shrubs
half hidden in the mist this summer dawn;
I sit in contemplative wonder at Nature’s willful whimsy
while thunder drums within the distant hills
and Mourning Doves and mourning souls find shelter from the storm.
We all await with hopeful hearts the sun’s return from distant shores.
