Have you always wanted to leave your mark on downtown Lyons? Here’s your chance: it’s “Art Underfoot”, just one of the ways the arts will be featured at PumpkinPalooza, Saturday, October 23rd in Lyons. The celebration of the visual arts begins with “a sidewalk chalk art contest (“Art Underfoot”) and continues with a display and sale by local artists and crafters.
“Art Underfoot” begins at 9 a.m. on October 23rd. Participants register at the Lyons Main Street Program booth to receive a sidewalk section assignment, then have until 2 p.m. to complete their work. Participants must supply their own chalk, which is available at stores in Lyons. Prizes will be awarded for the work in three age-group categories: elementary school, middle/high school and adult. In the event of rain, this event will not be held.
Fox’s at the Ohmann is the location for the art show and sale. A limited number of spaces will be available to local artists and crafters to display and /or sell their works. Artists will have a table and space for freestanding displays. There is no charge to the artist for this opportunity.
