There will be a public information meeting on the 2010-2011 Newark School budget on Wednesday, March 30 at 7:00PM in the LGI room at the high school. There will be a question and answer period with the school board and administration.

The President of the school board has already stated there will be a tax increase in the new budget. There presently is an 11.5% or $1,300,000 shortfall which must be made up. How much of that deficit will the board impose on the tax payers? Many people in this community believe there should be no increase in taxes, they should make the appropriate reductions in expenses. If you don't want a large tax increase in school taxes then you should attend this meeting and state your opinion. The board believes that silence on behalf of the community means they are doing a great job and everything is going as they think it should. If you want your voice heard then you should be at the meeting.

The logo on this article implies that this submission is from the school district and will be informative, but it is clearly one person's opinion.
