Rochester based string quintet, Gibbs & Main, will bring music and flutes from around the world to our “Kidsemble: Toot your Flute”with flutist Sophia Gibbs Kim, and music explorer, Terry Smith.

Kidsemble concerts and workshops are highly interactive musical experiences from children in K-6th grades and their families. Highlights of the program include an instrument petting zoo, where children can meet the musicians and try instruments, and the opportunity for children to make their own flutes and a mini workshop to learn how to play a simple part along with Sophia and Gibbs & Main.

Founded in 2002 by Karine Stone and Diego Garcia, Gibbs and Main is an innovative chamber music ensemble based on Rochester, New York. The group, comprised of five professional musicians, performs classical masterpieces side by side with Latin music, jazz and more contemporary repertoire in both traditional and unexpected settings.

Gibbs & Main is known for its Kidsemble concerts, interactive workshops and performances for children and adults. The group brings music into the lives of the greater Rochester community, often performing in schools, churches, and libraries, as well as cafes, restaurants, art galleries and parks, bringing high-caliber performances to a wide range of audiences.

Won’t you join us on Saturday, September 17th for a fun filled day with your family –Admission $10/family.
