There was something more than a chill in the air on Saturday, October 22nd in downtown Lyons - you could feel the excitement! Lyons has it, there is no doubt. It was on display throughout downtown - Lyons Pride and sense of community. We entertained visitors from all over the region and the day has been proclaimed a resounding success. The Lyons Main Street Program's third anniversary PumpkinPalooza! was an even bigger crowd-drawing success this year and the success of the festival is due to the participation of many Lyons businesses and organizations as well as the volunteers that came out to welcome and entertain our guests. There are many we would like to thank and should we have missed you in this listing, please accept our sincere apologies as we tried to remember all that assisted (a truly difficult task as there were so many that made this day fantastic!). Our thanks to the PumpkinPalooza! Committee: Patty Alena, Committee Chair, Eric Lewis, Alicia Linzy, Jack McCranels, Sharon Lubitow, Kim Kelley, Paula Bartishevich, Jessica Edginton, Linda Andrews, Mindy Heid, Phil Desain, and Michelle Villani. Thanks to these entities and sponsors: The Village of Lyons, The Village of Lyons Department of Public Works, Lyons Police Department, The Town of Lyons Highway Department, Wayne County Highway Department and Building and Grounds Crew (Dave and Art), New York State Canal Corporation, LNB (Lyons National Bank), Pacello's Mobil, Laundromat and Laser Wash, Manktelow Farms, Growlers' Pub, Studebaker's Grille, Stoney's Pizzeria, Loson's Big M, Ohmann Theatre, Lyons Chamber of Commerce, Lyons Central School District and the LCSD's LEAP Program and Elementary School Teachers. We would also like to acknowledge the following businesses and individuals: Mike Salerno, Jake Emmel, Margaret Hurley for the golf cart usage, Sergei Bartishevich, Keith Bridger, Bob Kelley, Terry VanStean, Scott Bailey, Patty Piotrowski, Dick and Corrine Kliesle, Brian Manktelow, Jim Hoffman, Dave Sealey from Govenor Cuomo's office, Don Disanto of Custom T-Shirts Express, Dave Alena, Bruce Lubitow, Alissa Lintala of WanyeCAP and the Americorps Volunteers, Heather Costello and the Lyons Elementary School Band, Camille Clark and the Lyons High School/Middle School Band, Mark Wlodarczyk and the LHS Vocal Jazz Esemble, Eric Saunders and Steve Jones and the LHS Tech Classes, Dobbins Drugs and the Old Lyons Hardware Store. Final thank yous go out to Patty Alena and the VanStean, Liberatore and LaGasse families for donating back their winnings to the Lyons Main Street Program from the "Great Pearl Street Pumpkin Race" and the "Bug-Bug and other Creepy Crawlers" contests.

As with any festival or event, we are sure there are ways we can improve upon our success and ask that you forward your suggestions or ideas to the Lyons Main Street Program - better yet, join the PumpkinPalooza! Committee and help us make this family-friendly and fun-filled day bigger and better.! We hope to see you in 2012!
