The holidays are approaching along with the Holiday Boutique at the Museum of Wayne County History. Hundreds of visitors came last year to shop and enjoy the decorated trees that filled the museum. They bought their holiday decorations and presents from the artisans and crafters placed throughout the museum during this special event. This year the Holiday Boutique will be Dec. 2 & 3, 10-5 and Dec. 4 from 12-3.

This year new artisans have been added and many are returning: Settler’s Post Florist; Loreen Jorgensen with handmade cards and notebooks; Sharon Caves chainmaille jewelry & leather good; Connie Goodell with seasonal decor; Donna Conlin Artwork; Kathie Lewis quilts, handbags and other sewn items; Dan Erle Photography; Judy Shumway ink drawings; Matthew Wood ink & watercolor artwork; Lyons Heritage Society is bringing peppermint related items; Carol Schreiner Jewelry; Linda Shaffer Felted accessories; Barb Arbogast seasonal decor; Marshal Fuller holiday decor and handmade jewelry; Deborah Beardslee beaded jewelry and notecards; Debra Weckleman homemade dog treats; Jane Bartholomew paintings and scherenshitte; Margo Rydman soaps and wooden puzzles; Phil Paliotti turned wood pieces; Joanne Miller primitive decor; Melinda Andrus jewelry and beaded bookmarks; Loraine Rice with alpaca items; Nancy McDougall dichroic glass items; and Suzanne Koval with paper products.

The Museum will also have many gifts and wreaths for sale in the Museum gift shop along with the Wayne County Historical Society’s newest item, “Songs from the Old Jail” a cd with 4 songs written and recorded by Wayne County Students who worked with singer songwriter, Nancy Bryant and her husband John. The cd can be purchased alone for $7 or bundled with the WCHS book, “A Jail Among Us” for $20.

The Museum will again be serving lunch on Friday and Saturday from 11-2 and coffee, teas and desserts throughout the day.
