2010 Red & White Couple of the Year
Jennifer Dunn & Robert Goatseay
Submitted by:  Jerry Ashley, Lyons Main Street Program Manager

The 2012 Red and White Affair has been set for Saturday evening, February 11th at Studebaker’s Grille, 8 Clyde Road, Lyons. The Lyons Main Street Program’s Valentine’s dinner-dance fund-raiser will begin at 6 pm with cocktails and a buffet dinner will be served at 7:15 pm. The Red and White Affair committee, Joanne Greco, Terri Burnham and Jennifer Dunn, have brought in new ideas as well as a youthful twist to this year’s event. New for this year is the addition of “just a touch of Mardi Gras”. Guests are encouraged to accessorize their red and white attire with Mardi Gras style masks and/or wear Mardi Gras style costumes that carry out the red and white theme of the evening. Masks may be worn or mounted on sticks to carry as an accessory – think glitter, feathers, jewels, and sequins! Again this year, there is a contest for the Best Red and White Couple. Last year’s winners were Jennifer Dunn and Robert Goatseay for their angelic white and devilishly red costumes.

The Annual Red and White Affair began in 2010 as a fund-raiser for the Lyons Main Street Program to provide a local evening out to celebrate Valentine’s Day with good food and dancing. In years past, there have been a silent auction, a live auction, door prizes, and a 50/50 drawing and those same activities will be a part of the evening’s program this year. Dancing music that crosses all generations will be provided by Jim Fremouw of Good Time DJ and Karaoke Entertainment and requests will be taken throughout the evening. Good Time’s Karaoke capabilities allows for the possibility to serenade your special sweetheart or to entertain (or not!) the crowd with your personal rendition of a favorite song! Tickets, $40 per person or $75 per couple, include a free cocktail and 50/50 ticket for each guest. Tickets are available through the Red and White Affair committee members, or at Greco Jewelers, the Lyons Main Street Program office, Dobbin’s Drugs and LNB Main Office, downtown Lyons. Don’t miss the chance to dine and dance the night away with friends and neighbors while supporting the continued efforts of the Lyons Main Street Program.
