TRAIL WORKS, INC. ANNOUNCES PARTICIPATION IN

7th ANNUAL CANAL CLEAN SWEEP ON APRIL 21, 2012

Statewide Cleanup Activities Planned along New York State Canal System

In recognition of Earth Day 2012 and in preparation for the upcoming 188th consecutive navigation season on the New York State Canal System, the New York State Canal Corporation is partnering with Parks & Trails New York, and the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation (EFC) to sponsor the Seventh Annual Canal Clean Sweep during the weekend of April 20th-22nd, 2012.

As part of this multi-community celebration, Trail Works, Inc. will host trail grooming and cleanup on the Black Brook section of the Enlarged Erie Canal Trail in Galen. We will meet at 9 a.m. in Black Brook County Park located on Old Route 31 and work until noon, rain or shine. Dress for the weather and bring your pruners, loppers and trimmers. For more information about the cleanup event in Galen, please contact us via email at trailworks@trailworks.org.

Over 100 community organizations, service groups, municipalities, and businesses across the New York State Canal System are participating in the Canal Clean Sweep by joining in one of the 77 local clean-up activities in Canal parks, along public promenades and on Canalway Trail segments in their region. Trail Works would love your help to clean up in Galen on April 21st!
