The Events of the Year--The Village of Macedon—A Great Adventure The Village of Macedon has a full year of wonderful events and adventures. These events are designed to build community and family fun—not to mention learning. April is a month of cleaning up and preparation. The Friday and Saturday April 19 and 20 are Canal Clean-up Days. People will be working in all areas of the canal to clean up trash and debris. You are encouraged to volunteer and help protect our part of the canal. Macedon Trails will be spearheading this effort and some light refreshments and kites might magically appear. The last Saturday, April 27, will see the Pal-Mac Athletic Department helping to cleaning up Main Street and other common community areas. This is a wonderful time for each homeowner to clean up around his/her home. The beginning of May is Macedon Days in the Village. Friday May 3 is an open reception for Town and Village workers at Books, ETC. from 4:30 to 7:00 PM. Come and say thank you to these community workers who make our lives so much better. On Saturday at 2:00 PM, we will focus on town and village history. Town and village historians will be on hand to discuss the wonderful and unique history of this area. The second Friday of June, June 14, will be movie in the Park. This month our Community concerts will begin. June 15 will be the Summer Sidewalk Sale. Vendors and music and family fun will rule the day. The second Thursday in July, July 11, is another summer concert. The first Saturday in August, August 3, brings us the ever popular Village wide Garage Sale. The Second Thursday in August is our last community concert. Fall comes in with a blast of fun—Scarecrows in the Village for the Month of October. The businesses on Main Street and all residents are encouraged to display scarecrows. First Saturday in October is our Autumn on the Erie Community Picnic. The second Tuesday in October is National Firefighters Appreciation Day. November—Appreciation Day? We will end our year of activities on the first Friday of the month with the Village tree Lighting and a Santa Parade. Enjoy all of these events!
