My name is Jonathan Taylor and I would like to announce my candidacy for Mayor in the Village of Newark.

I am a lifelong resident of Newark, who after graduating from Cornell University returned to the family farm to form a partnership with my parents. Along with my wife and two children we live in the village.

My family has always been very involved in the community from church, to school, and youth sports. I have served two years on your village board. In those two years on the village board and from experiences serving on other boards I feel I have gained the skill set needed to balance a budget, deal with a myriad of issues including the need to improve our infrastructure, finding ways to help our businesses grow, and increase our public safety. I believe we need to do everything possible to grow our economy in Newark, uphold our responsibility to protect our community, and make it possible for families to purchase homes here and raise a family. I feel very strongly that it's time for the next generation to get more involved and take ownership in the future of our community.

The Republican Caucus is Tuesday August 12th at 6:30pm at the High School. I greatly appreciate any and all support.
