NEWARK, N.Y. – The Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL), upstate New York’s premier wood-bat summer league, has announced the schedule for the 2015 season.

The Newark Pilots, 2014 PGCBL finalists, are slated to play a 50-game league schedule this season with 25 home and away games. The league will be split into two five-team divisions. The East Division will contain Albany, Amsterdam, Glens Falls, Mohawk Valley and Saugerties; the West Division will consist of Adirondack, Elmira, Newark, Utica and Victor.

Game times and promotional details will be announced in the near future.

The Pilots open the 2015 season on a three-game road trip, which begins with a 30-minute commute to Victor, N.Y., home of the PGCBL’s newest franchise. The soon-to-be named team hosts Newark on Tuesday, June 2 in its inaugural home opener.

On Wednesday June 3, the Pilots travel to Saugerties, N.Y., to visit the league’s other first-year team: the Saugerties Stallions. The season-opening road trip ends on Thursday, June 4 at Adirondack.

Newark’s home opener at the historic Colburn Park is on Friday, June 5 against the Mohawk Valley
DiamondDawgs.

Although off from league play, the Pilots will host a Fourth of July exhibition against the Capital City Reds out of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada at 7 p.m. Color guards from both nations, live music and postgame fireworks are among the attractions lined up for the Independence Day celebration.

The 2015 PGCBL All-Star Game is scheduled for Monday, July 20. The host team will be announced by the league in the near future.

Newark’s regular-season finale is on Thursday, July 30 when the Pilots host Victor.

The playoffs begin in August with the top three teams in each division advancing to the postseason.

The opening round of the divisional playoffs feature a winner-take-all game pitting the second seed
against the third seed. The winner will advance to the divisional finals to play the No. 1 seed in a best- of-three series.

The division champions then meet in the best-of-three PGCBL Championship Series.

The Newark Pilots begin their fifth season of play at Colburn Park in June of 2015.
