Join the residents of Clyde for the Abraham Lincoln Mural Presentation Ceremony on Saturday 15 August 2009 at Express-Lane Car Wash in Clyde, New York. Program highlights will include:

Preview Activities

10:00 - 12:00 Coffee with the Historians

Join us inside for coffee and donuts as our famous local historians provide interesting displays, information, presentations and stories relating to our local history and President-elect Abraham Lincoln's inaugural train journey of 1861.

Mural Presentation

12:00 Unveiling of the Abraham Lincoln Mural

Step outside with us at 12:00 for a short ceremony sponsored by the Clyde Chamber of Commerce featuring our local officials, mural program coordinators, and other dignitaries culminating with the unveiling of the wonderful mural artwork of renowned local artist Robert Gillepsie. Take a few moments and immerse yourself in the historically accurate scene of President-elect Lincoln's whistle stop visit in Clyde and then turn around to realize that you are standing within 100 feet of where it really happened.

12:30 Post Ceremony Activities

Afterwards, the Clyde Chamber of Commerce, our local historians, the Galen Historical Society and the Clyde Fire Department invite you to visit and enjoy the sights, sounds, and hospitality of our Mill Museum, the Brick Church Museum, and our beautiful Park and Fireman's Festival.

    Look for this mural on the west side of the Clyde Bridge on route 414 in Clyde. It's great and there will be two more murals in Clyde coming soon!
